A town on the Elsir River. It is loosely affiliated with the other towns in the Elsir Vale. The larger towns lie along The Dawn Way a road that runs east to west, south of the Elsir river.

To the west, The Dawn Way crosses the Elsir river and becomes The Old North Road.

Beyond the eastern edge of the Elsir Vale, lies Winterhaven. East of that, along The King’s Road lies the Nentir Vale.

Population: 6,700; another 1,000 live within a five-mile radius of the town itself. The people of Brindol are mostly humans, half-elves, and dwarves. The town’s population swells by several hundred whenever some connected halfling clans known as “the river people” are in town.

Government: A town has a council, two-thirds of whom are hereditary landlords and the re- mainder of whom are guildmasters from the city’s important trade guilds. Lord Warden Harrik Orennais the public face of the council and commander of the city militia.

Defense: The city has 200 soldiers under arms at all times, with about one-quarter on duty at any given time. In times of crisis, the Lord Warden has access to another 200 well-equipped but poorly trained soldiers by calling up the militia.

Temples: Temple of Erathis; College of Ioun; Shrine of the Sun (Pelor); Moondust Temple (Sehanine); Shrine of Bahamut (no permanent clergy); Shrine of the Open Door (Avandra).

History: Brindol, and the cities of this entire valley, were attacked relentlessly by a group of Hobgoblins known as the Red Hand of Doom a little over a decade ago. Since the defeat of the Red Hand, things have returned to a more peaceful state, but there is still a bit of an undercurrent of uneasiness that lingers over most of this valley.
